Hiking at Island Lake Lodge
Hiking around Island Lake Lodge involves many risks, dangers and hazards. By participating in hiking, you willingly accept all the risks, dangers and hazards and the possibility of injury, death, property damage or loss therefrom. The trails are recreational trails used at no charge within Section 3(3.3)(c) of the Occupiers' Liability Act, and Island Lake Lodge assumes no liability for any activity on the recreational trails. The trails are not monitored, and users are responsible for their own safety.
Ensure you are prepared for your hike and hike within your physical limits. Check weather, trail and wildlife conditions prior to starting your hike. Stay on the trails. The trails are two-way and are used by hikers, runners and bikers – be alert and watch for others.
Important Note About Heiko's Trail:
Island Lake Lodge has non-operational days and private function weekends where there is no motorized road access beyond the lower parking lot. Please plan your visit. Those wishing to hike Heiko's during those dates, please work in the extra 8km it adds. All hikers should register with us at least 24 hours prior to the hike if you are planning to drop off a vehicle on our property overnight. Please call 250-423-3700.

Please note that prior to participating in a guided hike, participants must review and agree to Island Lake Lodge’s Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement (the “Waiver”) as a condition of participating in guided hiking. The Waiver can be reviewed here. If you are booking for others, it is your responsibility to ensure you inform them of this waiver requirement and the terms of the Waiver.
